The answer is, oh yes you can and I’ll tell you how.
I remember the first time I heard about twitter. I thought to myself, “how ridiculous, what could you possibly say that anyone wants to hear in 140 characters”. But a friend of mine kept telling me how much traffic he was getting to his blog using twitter. I figured it was free and I might as well see what it’s all about. Now after getting to know and like the twitter I can say with confidence that, oh yes you can get traffic to your blog using twitter.
Here Are Five Tips for Getting Traffic to Your Blog Using Twitter
1. Direct Automatic Welcome Messages – There’s a lot of controversy about automatic direct welcome messages, but I like them. It’s a way to introduce yourself, welcome your new followers, and direct people to your blog at the same time.
The reason most people despise them is that they’re dull, impersonal, and mostly a sales gimmick. So be creative, make them fascinating, be sincere, and offer value.
2. New Blog Posts – You can set it up so that your new blog posts are automatically tweeted straight into your twitter account. It simple! Go to Twitter Feed or Blog to Tweet and find out how. Then every time you post a new article, video, or tip on your blog all your twitter followers will know about it. It’s a fantastic source of traffic.
3. Tweeting to Multiple Platforms – Attach your twitter account to your Facebook account. This way not only are you letting your twitter followers know that a new blog post is up and ready for their reading enjoyment, but you can let your Facebook friends know at the exact same time.
All you need to do is go to “settings” in your twitter account. Then click profile and under where it says, “Web” you’ll see in parentheses. (You can also add Twitter to your site here) click that link, follow the directions and in a matter of moments you’ll not only be tweeting to your twitter account, but now your Facebook friends will know what you’re up to and when you’ve posted a new blog as well.
4. Gives Advice – Whatever it is you blog about, you can most likely give advice about. Search for the key words in your niche and respond to people talking about your topic. Then let them know where they can find more information on the subject. On your blog of course.
5. Be Helpful – People want the information you have and they are asking for. Take small snippets from your blog posts and tweet them on twitter. Then use the… method to lead them to the rest of the article on your blog.
