Measurable Tools For Social Networking: Converting Facebook and Twitter Networking

December 20, 2010 by admin

www.GlobalCashflowSystems.com Hi, Franco Gonzalez here with another quick tip! Social Networking Using Facebook and Twitter has proven to be viral in acceptance but how do measure how productive it really is as a marketer? Using simple tools like Bitly that can track the clicks you’re getting from your twitter and facebook is invaluable. It can show you what type of content your followers and friends appreciate more so that you can see that from real data and then make more similar content… Conversely you can also see what type of content your followers don’t like. So you don’t make that type of content anymore. Tools like this allow you to do what the best search engines and marketers do daily Keep giving your target market the actual content that interests them… And it’ll help you see patterns and trends to keep your business more focuses and generating better results. www.Bitly.com is a free tool and I highly recommend you review their site and see just how much data they give you as you use their links to post your content. For more of this type of internet marketing training and tips visit my site, subscribe to my newsletter and you’ll start receiving a steady source of relevent info, as well as a couple promos and recommends… But we pride ourselves on keeping that professional, relevant and not abusive. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Google Buzz, Friendster, LinkedIn, FourSquare, Digg, Flixster, Tasty are among the elite of Social Networking or Social Media websites and have millions of registered users. But what do these sites have to do with Search Ranking, SEO or online visibility?

The importance of Social Networking sites can no longer be overlooked or just left to your competition to wrangle with. It has been recent stated that Facebook’s registered users have rapidly risen and now exceed ½ billion! Information Week this past September, shocked many people when it revealed that “Americans spent 685,000 hours or 41.1 million minutes on Facebook in August, compared with 39.8 million minutes spent on Google, according to comScore. Yahoo took the third spot, with 37.7 million minutes”. With a combined global strength of well North of 2 Billion Social Networking Site users. Ignoring Social Media today is a grave error that any businesses trying to establish successful campaign toward Online presence, Online Exposure and SEO need to avoid at most any cost.

Defining Social Media, Social Networking and Social Marketing

Wikipedia describes Social Media as “media for social interaction, using highly accessible and scalable publishing techniques”. Are you amongst the many still wondering exactly what a Social Media website is, and why you need to be involved in it? I stand before you to assure you that you’re not alone. To help in clarifying this relatively new phenomenon, a Social Networking/Media website is a site that goes beyond simply just providing information, it is a website or web portal where there is interaction with it’s users. The level of interaction can be as simple as rating something, filling out a poll or voting. The successful Social Networking websites tend to be more complex and multi-layered. For example, examining the highly successful Facebook; users of Facebook perform multiple tasks often during the same login session. Facebook users are often recommending something to someone of similar interests, posting links, photos and videos and delight in imposing their “voice” among their Facebook followers.

Websites that are primarily Information Portals, such as Wikipedia, serve their users on mostly a single layer, such as the answer to a question. While a News Site such as The New York Times provide their users with up to date national and international news. It has become readily apparent that ratcheting up the “Social” aspect of a website and providing some level of interaction is paramount in keeping users interest. Less successful (social) websites more often only offer a single layer or rudimentary “socialness”, but what really sets apart the successful Social Media/Networking sites from the “also runs” is the inclusion of multi-layers of social interaction with it’s users. This interactivity and social nature of these sites is what keeps it’s users returning over and over again.

Online Marketing and SEO Campaigns, Crucial to success, while Social Media makes a strong upcoming Central Play!

Until recently, following Google’s path would derive the best methods and strategies used by SEO companies. Successful SEO campaigns meant adjusting optimization tactics and techniques based on what could be culled or deconstructed from the Google Algorithm along with other tried and right SEO techniques. Website SEO campaigns have traditionally been comprised of two separate but equally vital components, on-site optimization, followed by the ongoing routine of off-site optimization.

On-site optimization frequently consisted of the use of, new and pertinent optimized website content, assuring proper density and usage of the most vital keywords, linking to other vital pages within the site and linking out to trusted authoritative and highly ranked external sites. External or off-site SEO may have consisted of establishing links back (back-links) to the originating website from other authoritative high Google Page Rank websites, Blogging, press releases and more.

Though the importance of these standardized 2 SEO campaign components cannot be diminished, but the importance of inclusion of the third (new) component of Online Exposure and SEO, Social Media and Social Networking can no longer be overlooked. To validate the significance of the inclusion of Social Media Impetus, one need only look toward mainstream media such as TV, Magazines etc. Television commercials continuously make pointed references to Facebook, Twitter while magazine ads tout “Follow us on Twitter” or “Visit our Facebook page”, clearly the level of importance given to the third component of online exposure has not only become mainstream, but quickly becoming significant marketing vehicle.

It seems apparent that the roll and importance that Social Media and Social Networking sites are taking has mandated the 3-component approach to SEO. What is not apparent is the extent of participation and level of involvement as well as how to properly utilize and capitalize on Social Media and Social Networking.

Today, Social Media remains a mystery to most companies and organizations, the ideal strategy and level of involvement are generally beyond the prevue and knowledge and even sometimes the comprehension of even some even C level management. When organizations are left scratching their collective heads, retaining an experienced well-staffed Social Media Optimization and SEO Company can tender an vital advantage that is needed to triumph over their respective competition. In the 80′s and 90′s it was understood that many companies would need to higher a PR firm. Today, a new media SEO or Online Marketing Company quickly becomes the De facto standard to reach out to the masses, quickly paying for it by producing a positive return on investment (ROI).

8 Key Twitter Networking Tips You Must Know

September 10, 2010 by admin

I’ve been using Twitter, a social networking site, for six months now and have met so many terrific, fascinating and business savvy people.

It’s simple to not know what Twitter is when you happen upon someone’s personal page. The micro posts are a potpourri of answers that don’t quite make sense to the visitor, but that’s okay because you’re not connecting with your visitors, you are connecting with your followers.

Twitter tweets allowance is 140 characters. It may seem small, but you can get in quite a mouthful. No one ever said networking had to be a long drawn out novel. Don’t underestimate the power of small and quick answers because with the right words they can add a lot of punch.

What I have observed over the months is everyone uses Twitter for different reasons, but the majority of people who use it for networking don’t always know how to network properly.

These 8 tips will show exactly how you can get the most out of your networking efforts on Twitter.

1. Start by using your real name on your profile, upload a real photo of you and fill out your bio. Your bio is about you and not your business. Your website link will take care of that.

2. Follow people that interest you and who can help grow your business. Follow quality people. Quantity is not vital.

3. People want knowledge, information and resources. It’s always better to give first and then receive. I’m not saying you shouldn’t self-promote, but if the whole time you’re on Twitter and you’re just self-promoting, people aren’t going to care and will most likely un-follow you.

Networking is about sharing and connecting with others. A person who only has self-promotion on their mind is looked upon and labeled a spammer.

4. People like freebies and tips. Offer your best tips on working from home, on direct sales, web designing, and marketing and even Twitter tips. There are tips for everything so find something in your niche that you reckon would be valuable information. Throw in a few freebies as everyone likes something for free.

5. It’s vital to engage in conversations with your new found “friends”. Don’t ignore their tweets. Use it to strike up conversations as you will never know where these will lead.

6. If you read an fascinating or newsworthy tweet, retweet it. This is a fantastic way to say something if you can’t find anything to say. When you help to promote others, others will help to promote you.

7. Don’t abuse direct messaging (similar to private messaging) or use it as a means to spam your followers. Many will not hesitate to use the block feature.

8. Expect to spend some quality time and be consistent in your networking. Try to visit daily. Delight in and be yourself on Twitter and be respectful. Your reputation should always be guarded.

Not enough people take networking seriously because they don’t know how to do it properly. There are many people who do know and can show you the ropes or better yet take the time to learn and observe what others are doing.

When you learn networking is not about sell, sell, sell and me, me, me, you will soon find more people are attracted to you and what you have to offer.

5 Social Media Secrets That Work Effectively For Offline Networking

August 29, 2010 by admin

Social media has made an Internet phenomenon and has taken online networking to a dynamic level. Do you ever wonder why social media is so successful? It’s viral and it spreads quickly – just like word-of-mouth spreads quickly in offline networking.

When you meet people for the first time, take a few lessons from the social media gurus and apply their secret tactics to your offline networking strategy.

Secret #1- Social means both talking and listening. Listening is just as vital as talking

When you interact on a forum or leave comments on a blog, you first read what the other person wrote and then you comment. If you constantly leave comments about yourself and don’t interact and comment off-topic, you will make a terrible first impression.  Other members will ignore you.

This same philosophy applies when you are first introduced to people. You want to learn about them and question questions. How can you learn about a person if you are constantly talking about yourself? Pay attention, listen and question appropriate questions according to the conversation topic.

Secret #2- Widgets that instantly find thousands of followers don’t always give the best return on investment

Social media gurus always tout the benefits of handy widgets that automate Facebook and Twitter followers. Do you realize that the 5,000 people you just added probably won’t be interested in your products or services? You just wasted time and money adding people who don’t care about what you’re pitching.

Use this same social media approach when you attend networking events and collect business cards. Don’t just pitch your products/services to just anyone you meet. Talk to people who might really benefit from what you offer. It doesn’t make sense to attend a networking event filled with seniors if you are a nightclub owner whose target audience is 21 year-ancient college students.

Secret #3- Freebies don’t always mean more subscribers, BUT worthwhile freebies make all the difference

Freebies don’t always mean instant success. Contests don’t always draw thousands of new members to your site either.  In the social media world, if you make your prize too abstract or unappealing, you will drive away visitors.

This social media tactic also applies to freebies offered in the offline world. If you attend networking events and conduct raffles or contests, make your prizes worthwhile for guests. Target your audience and get inside their heads. You want your guests to really use the product or service you’re giving away.

•    How will this freebie benefit the contest winner?

•    Will this freebie make them contact me for more services or products?

Secret #4- Don’t scare away others with the “me me me” syndrome

If you start every blog comment or tweet with “I did” or “I want” then you are headed down the “me me me” syndrome path.  Social media is all about helping others. Being an expert in your field doesn’t mean acting like an egomaniac.

If you start every networking conservation with “I” you will be met with glazed over expressions. Don’t be surprised when people make excuses to leave the conversation. Remember the “social” in social media and apply that to your offline conversations. Social means give and take – social doesn’t mean a one-sided, it’s all about me conversation.

Secret #5- Always use professional Net-iquette

Don’t come across as rude or condescending in your Facebook or Twitter updates. You never know who will come across your updates in the cyber world, and how it can come back to haunt you.

This tip should always be applied to offline networking. Always remember to practice professional, ethical etiquette whenever you meet new people. Reckon before you speak, and remember that you represent your company/business. First impressions make a lasting impression, so always place your best face forward.

Social Networking Traffic!!

Social Networking Traffic!!

There are several social networks that webmaster are using, and suggesting to their clients to use, to increase online marketing exposure. We talked about Twitter in yesterdays article, and how it can help you generate traffic to your web site. There have been many networks of this nature that has cropped up, and many have come and gone. I’m sure there will be many more that will spring up over time. Today we want to share with you some information about the most well loved social network program today: Facebook.

One of the advantages of Facebook, in addition to keeping in touch with your family and friends, you can really promote your business. Whether your business is a product or service, you can use Facebook to your advantage in any of your marketing campaigns.

Some experts feel that within a very small time, it is possible that Facebook, Twitter and other major social networking organization will really bring more traffic to a web site than Google. The jury is still out, on this claim. The social networking sites have a specific function, and the search engine, have a really different purpose, when it comes to marketing. Each can be strong in their own right, or can be used in conjunction with existing strategies you presently use in your business.

Like anything else in our society, all things don’t work the same for all people. Facebook may work wonders for some people, while with others, it doesn’t work at all. You can give either Facebook or Twitter a try, and see if either or both, of these types of networking can help you generate traffic, for your business opportunity.

Facebook offers a bit more possibilities, while Twitter is more simplistic. But, both will probably give you some traffic that should help you with new contacts, which in turn will give you more opportunities to possibly close a sale. That’s what it’s all about anyway. I personally feel it’s worth the time and effort, to at least check out the features and benefits of both of these opportunities. It may work well for you.

Like with any other social networking opportunity, make sure you fine tune your profile with small, simple, accurate information. Make this a huge part of your project, making it simple for the readers to follow. The more fascinating you make your profile, the more people will have an interest in following, what you have to say. Don’t forget to place your business opportunity URL’s somewhere in your profile. More that 80% of individuals don’t list their URL, and as a result, no one knows where to find them or their product.

With Facebook you can include not only text, but pictures as well. You can also post some informative videos and others tabs of interest. Use your imagination here, there are all kinds of possibilities.

Building your network is vital, if you’re going to use this type of media. You can invite unlimited partners, friends, acquaintances, as well as other people who may have similar interest. Be extremely cautious about any appearance of spamming here. Spamming is an instant turn off for most people, so use excellent judgment in this area of your new endeavor.

Writing and posting often is something, most people don’t do. The more you can keep your name, and your business opportunities name, in front of people, the better off you’ll be. Try to post everyday if at all possible. If you can’t post on a daily basis, then do it once a week maybe. But, keep in mind, keep active in your endeavors: the more often you can post, the more positive response you will get.

If you are the least bit paranoid, and don’t want your personal information spread all over the web, then this type of media, may not be for you. After studying the values of Facebook you may come up with a compromise, and be able to share only the information, you feel, will get the job done for you. You won’t know until you do your research, and really see some of the positive results, this type of media can bring to your organization.

Online Social Networking Sites – Why Do People Use so Many?

August 25, 2010 by admin

Do you belong to too many online social networking sites? Do you place in a lot of time on a few online social networking sites or a small time on a lot of them? Is your network marketing blog cluttered by cramming every possible social widget you can into the side bars?

The rules have changed in 2009. It’s time to chill out with strategic social marketing.

Let’s take a look at the answers…

First of all, spending more time on a few select social networks is certainly more effective than trying to join 100 and then having no meaningful presence connected to any of them. There simply is no value from joining a social networking site, posting your picture with one lonely link, and then not get active in the community to build your web presence on that site.

Social marketing can be very overwhelming and frustrating for any internet and network marketing professional, so take your pulse and trim the stout on how many you’re getting involved in. There will always be hundreds of social sites you can join; but relax… you simply can’t set up accounts and then expect automatic traffic increases to your own site.

It takes involvement and persistence to building your online web presence. You have permission to chill out about all this social marketing! Spend your time regularly on a few select sites that you really delight in being on. That’s how you build a meaningful presence and start cultivating traffic.

In a list of 100 social sites, there are only going to be a handful that cater to your niche.

It is absolutely possible for you to have a blog and a Twitter account and become one of the most profitable in your specific niche. If you choose your sites correctly and maximize your efforts, spending quality time on those few, you can have a larger following than someone who has joined 100 social sites.

How about those widgets? Less is more! Take a excellent look at your network marketing blog. If you have more than 10 widgets from different social communities, then it’s time to do some cleaning. You just can’t cram everything you belong to in your sidebars; it’s confusing for both you and your readers. Scale way back on the number of sites, tools, and widgets you use to attract a following.

Place aside all pressure you’re placing on yourself to sign up for those number of sites still on your list and make it a mission to find the few among many that will give you the best access and leverage to your target market. Spending your time building a real, meaningful online web presence and interacting regularly, the larger your network marketing business will grow.
